Who we are

This website is operated by Anthenara. Anthenara decides why and how information submitted through the site is used.

Information you provide

When you follow Anthenara, we collect your email address and language preference. When you send a collaboration note, we collect your name, email address, optional organization or community, and the message you choose to send.

Email updates

We use email addresses exclusively for occasional messages about Anthenara, The Emergence Forum, and closely related work. We ask new subscribers to confirm their address before receiving letters. We write sparingly and only when there is something meaningful to share. We do not use these addresses for unrelated promotions, sell them, or share them with others for their own marketing.

Buttondown helps us manage confirmations, deliver letters, honor unsubscribes, and protect the list from abusive or automated signups. When you submit the follow form, we provide Buttondown the information needed for those purposes: your email address, language preference, the page and campaign associated with the request, and the IP address from which the request was made. The IP address helps Buttondown assess the legitimacy of the signup. Anthenara passes it at the time of submission but does not store it in the website’s subscriber database.

Buttondown acts as a service provider for Anthenara and does not receive permission to use the list for its own marketing. Buttondown describes its handling of subscriber information in its privacy policy and data protection guidance.

Collaboration messages

We use the details in a collaboration message only to understand the inquiry, respond to it, and continue a conversation you have invited. Please do not send sensitive personal, health, financial, or payment information through the form.

Hosting and technical data

Anthenara has not added third-party advertising or analytics trackers to this website. OpenAI hosts and operates ChatGPT Sites on our behalf and may process technical and operational information—such as logs, usage data, device information, and cookies or similar technologies—as needed to host, maintain, secure, debug, and operate the site.

ChatGPT Sites does not currently offer data residency. Information may therefore be processed in locations where OpenAI and its service providers operate, subject to the terms and safeguards that apply to the service. Storage and retention

Form submissions are stored in the website’s private database. Anthenara does not retain subscriber IP addresses in that database. Subscription information, including the IP address and referrer-level information associated with a signup, is also held in Buttondown while a subscription is active or as reasonably needed to provide the service and preserve an unsubscribe, delivery, or consent record. We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, to maintain the relationship you requested, or to meet applicable legal obligations. We periodically review what we hold.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe through a link in an update or by writing to us. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of information you submitted, or withdraw consent.
